Shopping event on 11/6 spotlights female owned local businesses! This event really is the shopping trifecta (and then some)!

I know–it’s barely November and we’re already being forced to think about the inevitable–holiday shopping! If you want to get a head start on your shopping this year while having fun, there’s an event on Sunday, November 6th you must know about. It’s a Woman-Owned Pop-Up Shop at Cushing Memorial Hall at 673 Main Street in Norwell featuring 40+ vendors!

This event really is the shopping trifecta (and then some):

  1. All vendors are women owned businesses.

  2. All the businesses are local.

  3. The Pop-Up is Nov. 6, so you miss the post-Thanksgiving shopping madness!

Plus, you don’t need to step near to a mall or surf the internet for hours and you can shop with a glass of wine in your hand while socializing with an amazing group of women (bonus)!

The Pop-Up Shop is the inspiration of Susan Davis, owner of SHD Marketing who has been thinking about the idea of a women focused business showcase for a number of years. As a local community-focused marketing professional, Susan is passionate about seeing local small business owners thrive and grow. A fervent supporter of women entrepreneurs, Susan decided to take the plunge and have SHD Marketing underwrite the event to see how the community reacts to it. Susan is also the co-founder of the Girl Gang Association with her partner Melissa Smith of Hale Bone Broth. The Girl Gang Association connects like-minded women and provides a forum to network and navigate all aspects of entrepreneurship including education, guidance, goal setting and accountability. Given the popularity of the Girl Gang Association, Susan thought this Women-Owned Pop-Up Shop seemed like a natural next step.

The event is also family-friendly and appropriate for all ages, which is a major focus for Susan as she is eager to show her 9-year-old daughter and her friends all the amazing professional opportunities available to her. Susan hopes that moms, aunts, and grandmothers will bring the girls in their life to the event as a source of inspiration to see all the amazing things women are doing right here in our own community.

The Pop-Up Shop event is free and runs from 4-7 pm at Norwell Cushing Center at 673 Main Street in Norwell. Over 40 female entrepreneurs will be showcased at the fun, festive shopping event which will also include music, drinks, cash bar, snacks and an hourly free raffle for event attendees so come early for more chances to win!

Susan is hopeful that events like this one—which celebrate the successes of women entrepreneurs, are the start of more opportunities and exposure for our community’s local businesses.
