About the Client
Old Colony Library Network (OCLN) connects independent libraries across the South Shore, helping them expand access to shared resources, technology, and services. As “The Network Behind Your Library,” a new tagline we helped them develop, OCLN supports the connections that make local libraries stronger while honoring each member’s individual identity and community.
The Challenge
The challenge was to make OCLN’s role more visible through a fresh, welcoming, modern, and inclusive identity. Shaped by member-library feedback, the brand needed to communicate connection and accessibility while reflecting everything libraries offer today—from books and digital resources to learning, discovery, and community.
Our Solution
We centered the identity on connection, customizing the wordmark to link the “O” and “C”—a simple expression of the connected relationships between libraries, patrons, and resources. Clear easy-to-read typography keeps the full name and tagline legible. A vibrant palette pairs trusted blues with warm oranges and pink, bringing energy and personality to the brand. Custom icons and illustrated patterns extend the visual language, with book and wave forms suggesting connection to the south shore and bridges between libraries. The result is a cohesive, welcoming identity that reflects OCLN’s shared purpose and looks toward its future.
