SHD Marketing Summer Internship
Real clients. Real projects. Real marketing experience.
May - July | Monday–Thursday, 10am–4pm | South Shore, Massachusetts
About the Program
The SHD Marketing Summer Internship is an eight-week, curriculum-driven program built for marketing students who are ready to do the work — not watch from the sidelines. From day one, interns are active contributors on live client projects spanning the full spectrum of what modern boutique marketing looks like.
We built this program with intention. Every week follows a structured syllabus with defined goals, daily deliverables, and supporting resources — so interns always understand what they're working on and why it matters. This isn't a rotation through theory. It's hands-on experience with real clients, real deadlines, and real results.
What We Look For:
We seek passionate, driven individuals who are eager to learn and contribute. Ideal candidates will have:
A positive, upbeat attitude
A strong work ethic and focus
A genuine interest in supporting small businesses
A client-first mindset, with respect for all team members

This internship runs on a week-by-week syllabus. Each week has a defined theme, a set of priorities, and daily deliverables — giving interns both structure and ownership over their work.
Every member of the SHD team leads a dedicated deep-dive session in their area of expertise, including:
Graphic design
Social media management & content strategy
Paid advertising & analytics
Website design & development
Copywriting
SEO & blog writing
Marketing strategy
Interns work on both team projects — where collaboration and delegation are part of the learning — and individual client assignments, where they own their deliverables from start to finish.
-
Interns are never left to figure it out alone. Throughout the summer, you'll have consistent touchpoints with the full SHD team:
Weekly team meetings — interns participate alongside the full staff
Weekly intern-specific check-ins to review priorities and progress
A mid-internship 1:1 with Susan to discuss your growth, goals, and feedback
A formal end-of-internship performance review with written evaluation, supported by a standardized rubric completed by the SHD team
We also want to know what excites you. At the start of the internship, you'll share your areas of interest and prior experience — and we'll build in additional exposure and mentorship in those areas throughout the summer.
